Plasticcycle held an awareness session at Vidyakara Balika Vidyalaya by invitation of the Maharagama District secretariat on the 24th of August in collaboration with Elephant House and Eco Spindles, educating the students on the topic of plastic pollution and the initiatives taken to reduce it as well as the recycling process.
This program was held in 2 sessions for grades 6, 7 and 8, 9 in an informal and interactive style by presenters from Plasticcycle, Elephant House and Eco Spindles and included quizzes and competitions. To encourage responsible disposal, two Plasticcycle bins were placed at the school, so that recyclable plastic waste, deriving from commonly used plastics in the school premises such as PET bottles, HDPE boxes and plastic lids can be disposed.
